2019 Admissions Welcome Package DGUT

The 2019 Admissions Welcome Package is a gift box prepared for new university students in Dongguan, China. The design completes a three-year visual series based on natural growth, moving from sowing and flowering to fruiting. The red Lingnan lychee is used as the core pattern, and the side of the box opening is die-cut with a hollow lychee shape. A wooden postcard is laser engraved and can be folded into a three-dimensional lychee pendant. The box holds letters, a canvas bag, a map of local revolutionary sites, badges, stickers and passes.

Have A Good Tea

Have A Good Tea is a packaging design for a Japanese flavored tea produced in the historic city of Kawagoe. The box holds tea with cherry blossom and night cherry blossom flavors, made for the season of cherry blossom viewing. Hand-drawn watercolor illustrations show a local landscape, and the logo area is embossed to separate it from the background artwork. The box is easy to hold, is made of recyclable non-glossy high quality paper and can be taken apart for recycling. The design aims to introduce tea culture to younger people.

Tianyoude Private House Wine

Tianyoude Private House Wine is a packaging design for highland barley liquor. The design uses three representative animals of the plateau as anthropomorphic illustrations. The Tibetan antelope, with a docile nature and a sensitive sense of taste, is shown as the winemaker. The brown bear, with a strong body, is shown mixing the materials. The wild yak, a typical alpine animal, completes the group. The outer box takes the form of a gift box and is made of environmentally friendly special paper. Hot stamping and printing reflect the plateau ecology.

Lianyue liquor

Lianyue Liquor is a packaging design for a liquor bottle and its box. The bottle takes the form of a lotus awning, a shape drawn from the lotus seed pod. In traditional Chinese culture, the lotus expresses noble and upright qualities. The bottle is made from a glass mold finished with an environmental protection glaze, and the production process is highly demanding. The lotus leaf is the main visual theme of the box. When the three sides of the box are placed together, they form a complete lotus leaf painting, which strengthens brand expression. The package measures 120 by 200 millimeters.

Ka Fu Lian Green Packaging

Tongchuang Design is a packaging design created for a cleaning and whitening product. The package is printed with a special ink. All text and graphics gradually oxidize and fade during the shelf life. The slow change from strong to faint reduces the environmental impact of the ink and supports health. The fading image also refers to the decontamination action of the product. The graphics use few elements drawn from ancient Chinese characters, shown in a contemporary form. The package is 200 mm wide, 82 mm deep and 249 mm high.

Terra Oliva

This is a custom-designed olive oil clay bottle. The idea behind it is to be very elegant and to be reused by users. Clay material was selected in order to suggest the origin of this blessed product, the Cretan soil. The land that gives the special taste and characteristics of this product. This packaging can come in two options. One with only the logo in front and the side icons only and accompanied by a small etiquette strapped with a string on the neck of the bottle, thus making it a decorative ornament. Deng Long Ji

Deng Long Ji is a packaging design for wine, created for a Chinese wine brand. The bottle shape is derived from the traditional Chinese lantern, a form associated with prosperity and celebration. The bottle cap is decorated with a Chinese window lattice pattern. The gift box is made of decorated fired acrylic and the bottle is made of decorated fired glass. The box measures 109.02 by 109.02 by 280.5 millimeters. The design presents wine through a contemporary Chinese aesthetic and aims to change the common view of wine as a purely Western product.

Yanghe Personal Letters Baijiu is packaging for a Chinese spirit produced in Suqian, Jiangsu province, an area known for its liquor production. The design presents the calligraphy of Chinese literati in the form of handwritten letters, while a local map shows the rivers, lakes and wetland that surround the distillery. The bottle is made of ceramic with a matte white glaze, and the bottle cap can be used as a drinking cup. The outer box is made of environmentally friendly corrugated paper wrapped with a paper cover, and the box opens easily.

Daejeon Bruce Rice Cake Redesign

Daejeon Bruce Rice Cake Redesign is a packaging design for a rice cake product sold by a confectionery company in the Daejeon area. Graphics of nine major landmarks of Daejeon are printed on the packaging, so buyers receive local tourism information together with the product. The range is divided into three series by flavour, and each series uses the natural colour of its main ingredient to show the taste. Product names appear in Korean and English. Thick paper is used, so the package can stand or lie flat and is not easily damaged.

Illustrated graphic elements add a playful character, while the flavours are shown through high quality photographic images. The combination makes the product easy to recognise and presents it as a healthier snack option.

Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest

Mi Temple of Heaven Builder Packaging is a paper package for a building block toy. The outer surface presents the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest in fine line drawings, and a layout with generous white space keeps the image calm. The structure combines display and packaging in one box. Opening the upper cover reveals a printed door that shows the history of traditional Chinese wood joinery, with a list of all parts on the reverse side. Behind the door, the block bags are arranged in layers. The inner structure can be taken out and reused as a storage box.
